The latest Kentucky unemployment data revealed unemployment rates fell in 107 counties, rose in nine and stayed the same in four counties. According to the report, this is the first time since October 2000 that Kentucky did not have any counties with an unemployment rate of 10 percent or above. The county with the lowest rate is Woodford County with 2.5 percent. Magoffin County still has the highest unemployment rate, but it has dropped to 9.9 percent. Other local counties listed among those with higher rates include Clay, Jackson and Leslie counties. The unadjusted unemployment rate for Kentucky is 3.5 percent, which equals the national unemployment rate.
