Laurel County Sheriff John Root says deputies went to a home off Campground Court during a criminal investigation. While there deputies encountered a man wanted on an outstanding warrant. 52-year-old William Freeman of Keavy was wanted for failure to appear. Officers say Freeman fled to the rear of the home and locked himself in. Deputies found him trying to hide under a bed. During a scuffle with police Freeman tried to kick deputies, but was taken into custody. In addition to the warrant Freeman was charged with fleeing or evading police, resisting arrest and assault. He was lodged in the Laurel County Detention Center.
