A huge crowd showed up this week in Somerset for the city council meeting for public comment about a proposed ‘fairness ordinance. The ordinance would add ‘sexual orientation’ and ‘gender identity’ to the city’s current anti-discrimination law. Hundreds packed the council chamber and lobby of the energy center in Somerset as folks on both sides of the debate addressed council members. The ordinance has already had its first reading. A final vote could come after the new year.
