Laurel County Sheriff John Root is warning residents to keep an eye on their cars this holiday season. Deputies say they’ve received several reports of vehicle break-ins along 25 E. The cars were parked next to the fitness center and had their windows broken out. Thieves made off with money, wallets and purses. Police remind people to always lock your vehicle’s doors. You should never leave your car unattended with the keys in the ignition and never leave valuables inside the vehicle. The break-ins remain under investigation. Anyone with information is urged to call the Laurel County Sheriff’s Office at (606) 864-6600.
