The Knox County Sheriff’s Office says deputies were dispatched to a reported burglary at a home in Artemus. The victim told police that about $4,500 worth of property had been taken including a handgun, assorted ammunition, pocket knives, a safe, range finder and keys to an ATV. Approximately $900 in damage was done to the front door where the thief got in. During the investigation 36-year-old Daniel Edwards was identified as a suspect. Later deputies spotted him in a vehicle in Barbourville. Edwards was stopped and some of the stolen property was found in the vehicle. He was arrested and charged with burglary, criminal mischief and possession of drug paraphernalia. Edwards was lodged in the Knox County Detention Center.
