Laurel County Sheriff John Root says deputies were called out to a home off Ray Johnson Road on a domestic violence complaint involving a female victim. As deputies arrived one of two men fled out the back door of the home. During a short foot chase and struggle the man, later identified as 34-year-old Christopher Mays, was arrested. He was charged with assault-domestic violence, public intoxication-controlled substances and fleeing or evading police. The other man, 33-year-old Jason Mays, was also arrested after he was found with suspected meth. He also had a Laurel County warrant for failure to appear on traffic charges. Both were lodged in the Laurel County Detention Center.
