The Laurel County Sheriff’s Office says deputies were called out after a woman found a strange man passed out in her car. Deputies say the man, identified as 39-year-old felon Jerry Vaughn, was under the influence. As they investigated, they found Vaughn had a revolver and artificial knuckles. He also allegedly had marijuana. The woman who found Vaughn told deputies money and her driver’s license was missing from her wallet. Authorities found the stolen items on Vaughn. Vaughn was charged with theft by unlawful taking, public intoxication, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, carrying a concealed weapon, promoting contraband, criminal trespassing and possession of marijuana. He was also wanted on a Knox County warrant for burglary and theft. Kentucky State Police say Vaughn stole a chainsaw, a weed eater, climbing equipment and a 1994 Toyota pickup truck on October 11th.
