A Laurel County Sheriff’s deputy received a surprising offer from a man this week, which resulted in two arrests. Deputy Allen Turner was off-duty and out of uniform at a local store off Ky 638 when a man came up to him and tried to sell him drugs. Turner informed the sheriff’s office and an investigation began. Deputies and detectives went to a home off Hatcher Road and found 62 year old Stevie Westerfield, who tried selling drugs to Turner, and 38 year old Philip Henson. The two were in possession of meth and several items used to smoke meth and marijuana. Both were arrestred and charged with possession. Westerfield was also charged with trafficking. Both were lodged in the Laurel County Detention Center. Sheriff John Root said more drug investigations are ongoing.
