The Barbourville Police Department says a man faces multiple charges after a rape investigation. Officers responded to a call of a possible rape and during the investigation, police tried to contact the suspect at his home. No one came to the door, but police said they could smell marijuana. While waiting for a search warrant, the suspect’s sister opened the back door and talked to officers. Police then caught the suspect, 19-year-old Kenneth York, who gave them permission to search his home. Officers found 969 Xanax pills, several other pills, three ounces of marijuana and cash. After further investigation, York was arrested and charged with first-degree rape, use and possession of matter of a minor in a sexual performance and multiple drug trafficking charges. He was lodged in the Knox County Detention Center.
