Officials say now that repair work to the dam is finished, Bert T. Combs Lake near Manchester is back open to the public. Public boating and bank access are allowed again. The Kentucky Department of Fish and Wildlife Resources will stock the lake with 1,000 rainbow trout. More trout will be stocked in January, April, May and October of 2019. Those required to have a fishing license must also have a trout permit if they wish to keep any trout they catch. The permit costs $10. This is also included in the resident senior or disabled sportsman’s license and resident sportsman’s license. Boats with internal combustion motors are not allowed on the lake, but electric motors are. Kayaking and canoeing are also allowed.
