Jackson County police called in rescue crews after a police chase. Two Jackson County Sheriff’s Deputies noticed a blue Lincoln weaving on the roadway around 11:00 p.m. The car didn’t stop for the deputies and led them on a pursuit that lasted for several miles. Officers say the chase ended in Adkinstown in a large field. The driver, Codin Robert Yoder of Tyner, tried to drive into the nearby woods and hit a tree. Deputies say Yoder and a passenger, April Colbert of Noblesville, Indiana, got out and tried to run away but then ran off a cliff. Colbert fell about 40 feet and landed on a cliff ledge. Yoder also fell to the ledge but then kept falling another 40 feet. Both were seriously injured in the fall. Jackson County EMS, local fire departments and local law enforcement worked together to rescue them. Yoder was treated and released from the hospital. Colbert is in serious condition at UK Hospital. The sheriff’s department said the two had both used meth before the chase. Both will be charged with felony and misdemeanor criminal charges.
