A jury has reached a verdict in a Clay County murder case. Jurors this week found Samuel Cornett guilty of murder, fetal homicide, burglary and three counts of wanton endangerment. The family of the victim, Alisha Tye, told reporters the day’s events brought much relief after the difficulty of reliving what happened to their daughter. The jury recommended a sentence of 25 years in prison. The judge will make a decision on November 5th.
