The Whitley County Sheriff’s Office says deputies arrested a man after shooting at a vehicle with a woman and child in it and leading them on a chase. Deputies say they responded to a shots fired complaint on Black Diamond Road. Officers spotted a car matching the description and tried to pull the driver over. The driver sped up and led deputies on a chase for about three miles. Deputies say the chase reached speeds of up to 90 mph in 35 and 25 mph zones. Once the chase ended, Justin Adams of Corbin was arrested. During the arrest, officers found bullets and a pistol in the vehicle. A woman told deputies before the chase Adams had used the car to block her vehicle along Black Diamond Road. The woman said Adams then shot at her vehicle while she was in it with her child. Police charged him with three counts of wanton endangerment, carrying a concealed weapon, and fleeing and evading police. He was taken to the Whitley County Detention Center.
