The Laurel County Sheriff’s Office says deputies arrested a man after he allegedly beat and held a woman hostage. Investigators say the woman was able to call police after being held hostage on Echo Valley Road for over two days. Deputies arrived to find the woman with extreme bruising on her face and body, including her eyes, cheeks, upper lip, chest, legs, abdomen and knife wounds to her back. She also had bruises on her neck consistent with being choked by a person’s hands. Deputies arrested 41 year old Freddy Humfleet was charged with assault, unlawful imprisonment and terroristic threatening. He was also charged on a Laurel County warrant for flagrant non-support. He was lodged in the Laurel County Detention Center.
