A deputy in Knox County is thankful to be unharmed after almost being seriously injured for the second time in a little more than a year. Deputy Claude Hudson said he was almost struck by lightning earlier this week while at a business in Barbourville with two other men. Hudson said he was roughly 20 feet from where the lightning struck. The strike left a hole in the ground. Hudson was shot in the line of duty in June of 2017. Hudson and Deputy Keith “Buster” Liford were both shot while trying to serve a warrant. Liford was injured, but Hudson ended up being fine. Although it was scary, Hudson says he’s not letting this stop him from doing his job.
