Two Laurel County men are behind bars after a fight. Police say Jeremy Glen Owens dropped off a woman at a home on Kentucky Hollow Road, four miles north of London. Investigators say a short time later Owens returned to the home, allegedly hit Jimmy Burkhart with his vehicle and drove away. Jimmy’s brother, Robert Burkhart, and other family members got into another vehicle, chased down Owens and stopped him. Officials say that Burkhart then assaulted Owens, allegedly stabbing him multiple times in the face, arm, and leg. Burkhart was charged with assault and disorderly conduct. Owens was charged with assault, DUI, leaving the scene of an accident, reckless driving and disorderly conduct. Owens admitted to using meth earlier in the day but does not recall hitting a person with his car. Both were lodged in the Laurel County Detention Center.
