The Laurel County Sheriff’s Office says deputies were called out to Corbin Walmart where a woman had been detained accused of shoplifting. When officers arrived, the woman, later identified as 39-year-old Tonya Gail Parms of London, gave them a false name. The store’s loss prevention team said Parms tried to leave the store without paying for nearly $120 worth of items. Once deputies learned her real identity, they found she had a warrant out for six charges including trafficking in a controlled substance. Parms was arrested and charged with shoplifting and identity theft. She was lodged in the Laurel County Detention Center.
