The Laurel County Sheriff’s Office says a Barbourville man is behind bars after he walked out of a Walmart wearing shoplifted shoes. Last month deputies went to Corbin Walmart to investigate a theft. Several items were stolen from a pickup truck in the parking lot. During the investigation, 32 year old Raymond J. Jackson walked out of the store wearing shoes he allegedly shoplifted. When Jackson realized he was caught, police say he kicked off the stolen shoes and ran away. After more than a month of investigation, deputies identified Jackson and arrested him off the West Cumberland Gap Parkway. Jackson was charged with fleeing or evading police, shoplifting and taking contents from a vehicle. He was also wanted on a Knox County warrant for theft and criminal mischief.
