The London Police Department arrested a woman after they say she robbed two banks. 49 year old Jennifer L. Moore was arrested and charged with two counts of robbery. Police said she first robbed Forcht Bank on 192. Tellers say the woman brandished a gun. While officers were there investigating, they got the call about a second bank robbery at Cumberland Valley National Bank, less than a mile away. Police spotted a van involved driven by a woman on Saint Joseph Lane. Police followed the van to a church parking lot where Moore jumped out and ran. Officers quickly caught her and took her into custody. Police recovered $32,264 at the scene. Police also said the vehicle she was driving appeared to be stolen at gunpoint from Reed Valley Road. The continuing investigation identified Moore as a mystery carjacker from earlier this month. On July 5th, police responded to a carjacking at Waffle House on Hwy. 80. The victim said they drove a woman around Laurel County in a blue Ford Escape Venture Cab. Then the woman stole the vehicle at gunpoint at Waffle House. The only description of the woman officials had at the time was a woman in her 40’s wearing a green dress and a wig. Officers found the stolen vehicle abandoned behind the Commonwealth Cancer Center on London Mountain View Drive. Moore is now charged with the additional carjacking. She was lodged in the Laurel County Detention Center.
