Laurel County Sheriff John Root says a woman is behind bars after she drove her vehicle into her husband’s vehicle, then smacked and kicked officers. Deputies were called out on a complaint that a man had pulled off the side of Keavy Road and a woman was ramming his vehicle with her vehicle. Officers found 53 year old Deidre Morgan May in her vehicle with the engine running. There was damage to both vehicles. Deputies say there was an alleged fight between the two at home. When the husband left May followed. As deputies arrested May, she began yelling and screaming and smelled of alcohol. After a short struggle, officials got her into the cruiser. Deputies took May to the Laurel County Detention Center, where she allegedly smacked a deputy jailer in the face and then kicked her. May was charged with assault, wanton endangerment, resisting arrest, DUI and others.
