A federal grand jury indicted a former Rockcastle County deputy sheriff for using excessive force and filing a false report. Brandon McIntosh, currently a deputy in Lincoln County, is accused of using a dangerous weapon to assault someone during an arrest. The person he was arresting was injured as a result. According to the indictment, McIntosh also filed a false report, saying that the person he was arresting became combative. This happened November 6, 2016. If convicted, McIntosh faces a maximum sentence of 30 years for the charges of excessive force and obstruction of justice. The Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office suspended McIntosh after the indictment.
