Mayor Scott Madon is expressing concerns about the hospital in Pineville, but the new owners hope they can help the area. Americore Health took charge of the hospital in late 2017. The hospital is expected to undergo several new changes, including its name. It will now be known as Southeastern Kentucky Medical Center. But since Americore took over, Mayor Madon says the city has not received payments on the hospital. Americore’s CEO, Grant White, says they currently do not own the buildings. He says they lease them right now from the old hospital association. White says he hopes Americore can help the Pineville area. Some other changes in store for the hospital include hiring new employees and implementing telehealth programs. White says these changes will help patients and give them easier access to healthcare. In a letter to Mayor Madon, White said the hospital will pay the city what they owe in full. The mayor said he wants what is best for the community.
