The Laurel County Sheriff’s Office says deputies arrested a man when they found a broken down vehicle on the interstate was stolen. Deputies were called out to the broken down vehicle in the southbound lane of I-75. When they arrived no one was inside or near the vehicle. They said after a short while, a man began walking toward them asking if they were going to help him start the vehicle. Police say 30 year old Robert Lee Campbell of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, gave deputies a fake name several times before eventually giving them his name. Deputies found the vehicle was reported stolen from Chicago. Campbell told deputies he was “getting someone else to drive him to his mom’s funeral in Myrtle Beach”, but no others were found in the vicinity of the stolen vehicle. He was arrested and charged with receiving stolen property, operating a motor vehicle under the influence and giving officers false identifying information.
