The Laurel County Sherrif’s Office says the 12 year old boy hit by a train Friday night has died. He died Monday night. Officials say the boy was hit eight miles south of London off Robinson Creek Road just after 8:30 p.m. Deputies think the boy was walking along the rail road tracks when he was hit. He was treated at the scene, then flown to the University of Kentucky Medical Center. Deputies said the boy lived with his great grandfather and wandered off earlier in the evening. Investigators say he went missing and that family members and others were out looking for him at the time of the incident. Deputies were planning to meet with railroad detectives for review of video recording the incident.
