The Corbin Police Department says a Williamsburg man was caught in the act of stealing items from a vehicle parked in the Tri-County Cineplex parking lot and confronted by the owner of the vehicle. Police say 28 year old Michael Cook allegedly stole items from multiple vehicles in Corbin. Cook was arrested charges of alcohol intoxication in a public place and theft by unlawful taking. Cook was confronted by one victim during the act and returned the items taken. He then fled the scene. Cook had an Applebee’s employee ID card on his key ring that was left at the scene when he fled. Police were able to provide a description of him to Applebee’s management who identified the suspect as Cook. Cook was taken back to the scene and was identified by the victim as well.
