The London Police Department says they’re “buckling down” on seat-belt use for the annual nationwide Click it or Ticket campaign May 21 to June 3. On average, 86-percent of Kentucky citizens wear their seat-belts and 50-percent of people killed in Kentucky car crashes were not wearing a seat-belt. According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), buckling up in a car can reduce the risk of a fatal injury by 45-percent. As seat-belt usage rates increase, the fatality and serious injury rates go down. For more information visit londonpd.com, their Facebook page or call 878-7004.
