The Whitley County Sheriff’s Office says deputies went to a Taylor Circle home in Williamsburg looking for a fugitive. 34 year old Ashley Lay was wanted in Laurel and Whitley Counties. When officers arrived they saw Lay through the window. When she saw police she ran out of the room. Police forced their way into the house and found Lay in a bedroom closet. Lay was arrested as well as two men found there, 34 year old Thomas Schenck and 34 year old Thomas J. Croley, were arrested. Shenck was charged with fleeing or evading police and hindering apprehension and Croley was wanted by Texas authorities. During the search, deputies found marijuana, weighing scales, crystal “ice” methamphetamine, needles, over 100 plastic bags and over $450 in cash. All three were lodged in the Whitley County Detention Center. The investigation is continuing.
