The Knox County Sheriff’s Office says deputies were called out to a fight in progress at Bingham’s Grocery. While on the way to the scene officers learned someone involved in the fight had left in a car. Deputies saw the vehicle matching the description an d pulled it over. The driver, 35 year old Kasandra Collins, was determined to be under the influence. Along with DUI, she was charged with no insurance, no seat belt and no license plate. She was also wanted in a burglary case from back in March. The burglary happened at a vacant house where wiring and plumbing had been ripped out of the walls and floor causing damage to the structure. Officers went to a recycling business and verified that Collins had sold the metal there. Kasandra Collins was also charged with burglary and possession of burglary tools. A man suspect in the burglary and who was also injured in the fight at Bingham’s Grocery was transported to Barbourville ARH with lacerations to the head. The investigation is continuing. Collins was lodged in the Knox County Detention Center.
