The Whitley County Sheriff’s Office says deputies discovered social media was being used to advertise the sale of marijuana. Officers traced posts to a home at Crisp Court. Police went there to investigate and found juveniles, drug paraphernalia and marijuana. During the search deputies found a large safe which no one claimed to be able to open. The homeowner, Victoria Irwin, said she didn’t know the combination, but her son said it contained a gun. Irwin was arrested and charged with endangering the welfare of a minor and possession of drug paraphernalia. Others arrested were Frankie Irwin, charged with disorderly conduct and resisting arrest, and Cassandra White, charged with trafficking in marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia and endangering the welfare of a minor. They were lodged in the Whitley County Sheriff’s Office. The safe was seized and brought to the sheriff’s office, where a search warrant authorized it to be opened. Inside was over $22,000 in cash and over 900 pills believed to be Xanax.
