The Laurel County Sheriff’s Office says deputies arrested a Corbin man after he allegedly attempting to shoplift and had someone else’s EBT card. Officers were called out to Walmart near Corbin where Walmart’s loss prevention team suspected 34 year old Jonathan Day was trying to leave the store without paying for items. When deputies arrived, they determined Day was under the influence. They also found he had an EBT card in his possession that did not belong to him. He was charged with theft by unlawful taking-shoplifting, public intoxication and fraudulently using ID card or electronic code for benefits. Day was lodged in the Laurel County Detention Center.
