Clay County School officials are announcing their decision to add 10 school resource officers throughout the district in an effort to improve school safety. Superintendent William Sexton says a visit with the students made officials aware that students do feel safe, but would appreciate the extra security. Sexton says they are installing at least 30 new cameras as well and plan to create an app for students to leave anonymous tips. School officials say police officers from various departments could take the job offers. There will be a job opening for school resource officers posted within the next week.
