Laurel County Sheriff John Root says deputies developed information on the location of a stolen pickup truck, a red GMC Sierra, which led to an arrest. Officers went to a home off East Laurel Road where the truck was sitting in the driveway. As police pulled in behind the truck to block it in, 40 year old Tommy R. Barton II of Lily, tried to leave in the truck but couldn’t. Barton was arrested and during the investigation was determined to be under the influence. He told police he had borrowed the pickup but did not know who from. Barton was charged with receiving stolen property, DUI and others and lodged in the Laurel County Detention Center.
