The Laurel County Sheriff’s Office says a woman is facing charges after assaulting one deputy and threatening and cursing at deputies, EMS workers and hospital staff. Deputies responded to a complaint about a woman who showed up at a home off Hawk Ridge Road bleeding from the head and causing a disturbance. When the deputies arrived at the home, they say 30 year old Kendra N. Messer of Walker, Ky., began to yell and curse at them, and they determined she was under the influence. EMS workers were also called to take Messer to the hospital to have the cut on her head checked. On the way to the hospital, EMS workers say Messer threatened that when she got out of jail she was going to find them and make them pay. While at the emergency room, Messer continued to yell and curse at deputies and hospital staff and also kicked a deputy. Messer was arrested and charged with disorderly conduct, public intoxication, resisting arrest, assaulting a police officer and terroristic threatening. She was lodged in the Laurel County Detention Center.
