Laurel County Sheriff John Root says three people were arrested this week at the Sheriff’s Office. Deputies say 47 year old Jo Michelle Floyd drove to the Sheriff’s Office and created a disturbance with office staff. Officers determined Floyd under the influence. She admitted taking Suboxone, Adavain and other pills that she could not remember. She was charged with DUI, wanton endangerment and others. A passenger with Floyd gave deputies her sister’s name, but was later identified as 40 year old Retina Dawn Robinson. Robinson was arrested and charged with public intoxication, wanton endangerment and giving an officer a false name. She also had a warrant for failure to appear in court on DUI charges. Robinson’s child was with them at the time so deputies called the child’s father, 49 year old Tommy Porter, to come get the child. When Porter showed up, he too was intoxicated and was arrested. All three were lodged in the Laurel County Detention Center. The child was released to other family members by social services.
