Fatality accident on KY 192

According to Sheriff John Root, Laurel Sheriff’s Sgt Richard Dalrymple ,accident reconstructionist, is investigating a two vehicle , single person traffic fatality which occurred on Monday evening approx. 6:27 P.M. on Ky 192, approx 12 miles west of London. Apparently, a 1992 Plymouth Voyager van was traveling eastbound on Ky 192, when for an unknown reason, crossed over the centerline in a curve and struck a westbound 2002 Toyota Camry headon. The two vehicles came to rest blocking both lanes of travel.

The driver of the van received multiple, severe head and chest injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene by the Laurel County Coroners’ Office, and is identified as Brenda Creech age 59 of Grace Loop , Lily. The occupants of the Camry received serious multiple injuries and were airlifted by helicopter to UK Med Center in Lexington.

They are identified as Jessica Clark, and Amber Tye—ages and addresses not known at this time.

Assisting at the scene was; Laurel Sheriff’s Chief Deputy Eddy Sizemore, Deputy Greg Turner, and Deputy Gilbert Acciardo.

Also assisting was: Ambulance Inc of Laurel County, London –Laurel County Rescue Squad, and Bald Rock Fire Volunteer Fire Department.

Investigation into the cause of the crash is continuing by Laurel Sheriff’s Sgt. Richard Dalrymple.
