The Laurel County Sheriff’s Office says a man is behind bars accused of pointing a gun at officers. Deputies and a Constable went to a home on Rough Creek Road to notify a man that his wife had been in an accident. They say 35-year-old Coty Jones answered the door, picked up a sawed-off shotgun and racked before pointing the gun at the Constable. Deputies say they ordered Jones to drop the gun several times, however, he just shut the door and went back inside. After deputies repeatedly told Jones to come out of the house, he finally came out with his hands up and was placed under arrest. While officers were trying to put him in a police cruiser, Jones scuffled with them and attempted to fight. Jones was lodged in the Laurel County Detention Center where he faces several charges, including wanton endangerment and resisting arrest.
