Kentucky State Police and the Laurel County Sheriff’s Office says they are on high alert after Facebook photos turn up showing a man appearing to taunt officers with a handgun. Trooper Lloyd Cochran said they’re just trying to find out what his intent is, whether it’s a joke or what, but they’re taking it very serious. Police say the first picture appeared on a fake Facebook account showing someone with a gun behind a state trooper. The second shows a person holding a gun outside the Laurel County Sheriff’s Office. Police think the photos were taken by the same person, who drives a 2007-2012 Nissan Altima. They need the public’s help to find the person who posted the pictures. Digital experts in Frankfort are trying to track the person down through the fake Facebook account.
