The Whitley County Sheriff’s Office says deputies carried out a drug investigation that led to a man’s arrest. The search warrant led police to Fairview Depot Road where they found nearly $6,000 in cash and drugs. Police say no one would answer the door, but they could hear someone inside. Officials forced their way inside where they then found Michael Wilde in the bathroom trying to flush drugs down the toilet. Wilde was then arrested and charged with first-degree trafficking in a controlled substance, possession of a controlled substance, second-degree possession of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of marijuana. Kentucky Fish and Wildlife also had a warrant out for Wilde’s arrest. Wilde is also charged for illegal taking of wild deer/turkey, obstruction/interference with an officer, second-degree endangerment of a peace officer, and second-degree fleeing or evading an officer on foot. The investigation is continuing.
