A woman charged in a deadly 2016 crash pleaded guilty this week. Sonia Askins admitted to driving under the influence and hitting Teresa and Joshua Bennett. Teresa died in the crash. Court officials said Askins pleaded guilty to an amended second-degree manslaughter charge. She initally faced a murder charge. Prosecutors recommended a 25-year sentence. Askins will officially learn her sentence April 2nd. According to police, Askins admitted to taking a shot of moonshine, 10 milligrams of Oxycodone, 15 milligrams of Morphine and other prescribed medication before the crash.
