A prayer service held at the Laurel County Detention Center is now at the center of a lawsuit. Organizers with the Freedom From Religion Foundation group said Laurel County Jailer Jamie Mosley violated the Open Records Act. The group said they requested information about the event but did not receive the requested documents in time. Jailer Mosley said he gave the group what they asked for and believes he did nothing wrong. Mosley said he and his deputy jailers offered to move any inmates away from the event if they did not want to be part of it. He said no religion was specified during the event and people just came to pray with and for inmates.
