Laurel County Sheriff John Root says a traffic stop resulted in a drug arrest. On the Hal Rogers Parkway deputies noticed a man making several suspicious movements in a car and pulled him over. During the investigation the department’s K-9 Edge was called in leading to the discovery of a baggie of suspected meth and a meth pipe. The driver, 42 year old Steven R. Lawson of East Bernstadt, was arrested and charged with possession of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia and tampering with physical evidence. Lawson was lodged in the Laurel County Detention Center.
