Laurel County Sheriff John Root says deputies recovered two stolen vehicles and are looking for suspects in the case. While investigating the theft of a Cadillac Escalade reported stolen on January 25th, the vehicle’s OnStar capability tracked the vehicle to a location off Lockaby Lane in Laurel County. As deputies entered the area they saw a white four-wheel-drive pickup leaving. As the vehicle sped off, the driver attempted to hit one of the cruisers head on. The officer went into the ditch to avoid a collision. Deputies were not able to catch up to the vehicle. They found the Escalade in a driveway where it had been tracked. Deputies also found another stolen vehicle, a 1998 Dodge truck in the backyard. No one was located at the home. Deputies described the driver of the truck that had fled the scene as: a dark skin male, with average build and a mustache and a scraggly beard and a passenger described as a white female in her mid-20s with dark hair and average build.
