Faith Assembly of God in London held a security training seminar Saturday for churches interested in learning defensive tactics to keep their congregations safe. Pastors who attended say it is time to prepare for the unforeseen and officials say it is important for members to realize church is not as safe as it once was. Churches are now faced with deciding whether or not to learn how to prevent danger from easily walking through their doors. Pastors say they never plan to turn anyone away but are realizing they must remain cautious at all times. Jackson County Sheriff Paul Hays says he hopes all churches will begin to consider holding safety seminars in the future. Instructor Bobby Day says they plan to have quarterly meetings with churches in the area in hopes to begin ongoing training in firearms, defensive tactics, and behavioral profiling.
