The Knox County Sheriff’s Office says deputies arrested a man after he fired an assault rifle into a truck and then barricaded himself into his house. Police were called out to Christopher Bingham’s house on Bargo Loop in Bimble. Bingham was still inside and would not talk to officials. A family member was asked to call Bingham and convince him to talk to the Knox County Sheriff on the phone. After a few conversations, Bingham agreed. It took one hour of negotiations before Bingham surrendered. Bingham was charged with criminal mischief and wanton endangerment. Police took his AR-15 semi-automatic assault rifle. Bingham was lodged in the Knox County Detention Center.
