The Kentucky Public Service Commission (PSC) approved the sale of the Eastern Rockcastle Water Association (ERWA) Friday. The association will be sold to Kentucky American Water Company (KAWC) for no more than $770,000. The PSC says the sale will benefit Eastern Rockcastle with greater resources for system improvements. ERWA serves more than 600 people, while KAWC serves nearly 131,000. The PSC says the sale is supported by Eastern Rockcastle’s member-customers, who voted overwhelmingly in favor of the change. The current water rates are expected to stay the same.
